Symposium Authors Pay a Visit to St. Louis Public Library.

As well as wowing the crowd at the YA Lit Symposium, Vaunda Micheaux Nelson, Greg Neri, and Andrew Smith will pay a visit to St. Louis Public Library branches.  Books for sale courtesy of Left Bank Books.  See below for details.

Vaunda Micheaux Nelson will discuss and sign her books, which include No Crystal Stair, Bad News for Outlaws: The Remarkable Life of Bass Reeves, Deputy U.S. Marshall, and Almost to Freedom at Buder branch on November 1st, from 7-8 p.m.  The author is a youth services librarian at the public library in Rio Rancho, New Mexico.  Make sure to see her Symposium program "A Matter of Facts and Fiction: Giving Teens a Research Edge through YA Author Panels."

Greg Neri, whose books include Yummy: The Last Days of Southside Shorty, the winner of a Coretta Scott King Author Award, Chess Rumble, Surf Mules, and his new book Ghetto Cowboy, winner of the Horace Mann Upstanders Children's Book Award, will speak at Cabanne branch on November 5th, from 9:30-10:30 a.m.

As part of its popular Read It Forward reading initiative for teens, St. Louis Public Library is proud to present Andrew Smith, author of Ghost Medicine, who will speak, meet fans, and sign copies of his books at Carpenter branch on November 5th, from 6-7 p.m.  Andrew Smith's other award-winning novels are: The Marbury Lens, Passenger, Stick, and In the Path of Falling Objects.

You can hear both Greg Neri and Andrew Smith speak at the "Guys Talkin' to Guys: What Will Guys Read Next?" syposium program, alongside authors Anthony John and Torrey Maldonado.
